Case 1 was totally unacceptable. But at least the woman used a plastic bag in case 2.
BTW, why people have time and gut to tape the videos and posted them on youtube, but instead of asking them to stop doing the wrong thing right at the moment?

While we think there is something/someone that might piss us off, do we realize there would be something we are pissing other people off too?

Same situation here, people thought there would be some people stopping the mother, in fact nobody did.
If, someone is doing something that is going to harm/hurt another (for example holding a knife in hand), there would be a risk for people go interrupting the situation for being harm/hurt as well. But now how could the mother or the little kid is gonna harm/hurt you? The most maybe the kid would pee on you or the mother yell at you. Do you really get hurt? However, it's up to one's righteous and moral standard and value whether how you (a general "you") would react in those kind of situations.
作者: tiffiant    時間: 2009-2-8 15:15

the kid pees into the gap, how does the pee harm your body? maybe smell? but the pee smell doesn't really existed like obstacles - (dont' know how to spell the word)(don't know if i spell right)

workers in MTR should be responsible for this....
workers are responsible the safety of the passengers

I meant, and as you said, people would help if they see something "might harm their bodies" such as seeing a guy pointing a knife at a gal to rob or something; but now peeing is not going to harm you (as you said), then why people don't stop it?
So, you think peeing into the gap (between the train cabin and the platform) but not really inside the train cabin is OK?
According to what you said, it's MTR staffs' responsibility for that situation, can I say it's cops' responsibility to stop crime, so regular citizens need not to do anything even they see crime thing happens?
For the MTR case, isn't it every single passenger's responsibility to keep the train cabin, and the platform, and the corresponding area clean?

if a person is not a MTR worker
and this situation, Will he/she talk to the mother/ or talk to MTR workers
ppl don't want to get involve of any cases/situations....because they have to go to court/police station to report...
and really messing up their time......

if harmful, ppl must help right away instead ignoring someone
how would one feel if you talk to the mother.....
will the mother continue to let the kid pee at other stations

Yes, that's the point. People (most people) are SELFISH!

Eating inside MTR train cabin is violating the MTR regulations (rather than saying breaking the legal law), same as peeing in any spot in the MTR station (since the whole MTR station is not a public washroom).

It's like, when you see dog owners not picking/cleaning up after dogs, would you talk to/stop them? (and actually they're breaking the law instead of private regulation) Oh yes, it's gonna waste your time, dog owners might yell back at you with swear words or might punch you right on your face, their dogs might get aggressive and try to bite you..... , so what's the consequence? Dog ****s all around the city! Then, isn't it (only) the government/city responsibility to keep the whole city clean?
Yes, even you ask that dog owner to pick/clean up after his/her dog, he/she might not doing the right thing in many other locations if he/she doesn't want to. So, you rather not telling him/her to do the right thing?

Well, what is the "right thing to do" might be varies to different people.

Yes, people should follow the laws as well as regulations established by any company when they agree to use their service. However, when you see people not following, what would/should you do?

咁簡單就好了...
小朋友去廁所, 有時痾兩滴就話搞掂, 家長係唔係要睇住佢o係尿兜痾呢?
急起上黎, 唔通由得佢瀨咩...

Same case may happen to other public transportations.
So, a staff or surveillance camera might need to apply to all mini-vans, buses (both upper and lower decks), MTR trains (every cabin), KCR trains (every cabin), trams (both upper and lower decks), ferries (all decks), and airplanes....... etc.
Moreover, non-disciplined people may also pee and poo in public gardens, flower beds, swimming pools, lakes, reservoirs, on any road and in any street..... etc, how practical can it be done? And how much money is gonna spend on this idea, and then how much more tax would citizens/residents need to pay?

甚至見過有阿媽雙手吊住個女對手, 叫個細路女遞起對腳, 好似坐無影凳咁對正個坑渠蓋去小解都有!  呢個阿媽一定係想從小訓練個女做體操運動員!

This is quite true. If you go pet on the mother's shoulder and say in a nice soft tone "oh dear Mrs, you shouldn't let your beloved son pee here....", probably you might "catch worm".
But if you yell at her in a distance "hey you bitxh! get you and your fuxking son off the MTR...." Then I think it's safe.
