任志剛為少數只有學士學位的央行行長.  他的薪酬亦受人詬病，因為他乃全球最高薪的中央銀行行長，大約是美國聯儲局主席的七倍，及大約是歐洲央行、英倫銀行及日本央行行長薪金的三倍。

What do you think about this guy, his salary is close to $10 million HKD/yr.  All the CEOs in the financial sector need to cut their salaries and bonus.  Should this guy cut his salary as well.
He made mistake after mistake over the years, but he can still in the same position wor.
You don't need to be smart or work hard, you just need to have a good relationship with the person in charge la.

What can we say?
I believe he did work hard over many years before he climbed to this position?
And at that position, keeping good relations is an important part of the job.
Life is not fair - deal with it tofu.

market pays for what it's worth for...pick one who can replace him, and that's where you measure his value.

You are like Lik, who likes to make things up and then bash other people. Please tell us what he did wrong.
The US/UK/Japan are all going bankrupt due to their lousy banking systems. At least Hong Kong still has a sound financial system. Don't you think he deserves more than those inept people?

If you looking at US, you have to dig further on what job they getting AFTER the "low paid" govn't job... Look at Robert Rubin => Citi => ~ $100M per year. John Snow => Cerberus (owner of Chrysler, which received govn't bailout).
