我唔飲咖啡, 亦唔太鍾意熱飲, 就咁古怪0既口味而言個人偏向 Blenz.
佢好飲過 Starbucks 可能係製作認真0的.
好似 Natural Iced Tea 咁, 係有 order 佢先沖個茶,
唔似 Starbucks 咁一早沖定有 order 時溝水加冰咁行貨.

星巴克啲Iced Tea 既shelf life 都係八個鐘, 為免要客人等咁耐 (black and herbal teas need 5 minutes to steep, 3 min for green tea) 我地晨早3, 4 點開舖嗰時就steep 定2 litres.

I like drinks (Chillos and ice tea) from Blenz too.

u know caffie, i have never EVER prepare this at my store when i am an opener.... i never had the chance to... =_= all i did was do the AM pastries... the supervisor always prepare tea....

i personally like blenz way better than starbucks. i choose 2nd cup over starbucks. i like the matcha green tea, or dark mocha (both from blenz). and i like ice cap too (from tim hortons). and i really like mcd's hot chocolate.... don't know why...

I usually get the non-fat extra hot MMM (marble mocha macchiato), Iced in the summer~
if not... then it's usually non-fat extra hot easy whipped caramel macchiato or non-fat extra hot no whipped half sweet white chocolate mocha.

btw... if you are used to the names used in starbucks... don't be surprised that you don't get what you expected (or you don't even get the drink) when you order them in Italy.

You cannot order Ice Capuccino because there is NO such thing. (unless it's an american operated hotel lobby... may be) I had such a hard time explaining this to one of my travel companions
- Try ice caffe latte or ice americano and add milk.
And if you order a caffe macchiato, you only get a tiny small cup... cos that's the way it is.
- Try caffe latte and add flavour syrup.
And if you order latte, you will only get hot milk

- Try caffe latte.

omg... there are too many... favorites... >.< who told me to work in starbucks wor~
BUT!~ my all time fav is ICED grande green tea lemonade with 5 pumps of classic, extra lemonade and easy ice!

but since its so COLD these days... i am going for... tall in a grande cup 2 pump mocha 2 pump vanilla hot chocolate with whipping cream all the way, chocolate and caramel sauce on top! OR!!!!~~~~ a tall vanilla green tea latte topped with whip! .... YUM~~~~

but i really think it really depends what starbuck store u are talking about geh.. cuz.. every starbuck shop actually is there own.. little company.. so i guess u cant say starbucks arent serious about the coffee... a lot of the times are the partners that is blamed for geh~~~~

my favourite iced tea combination at the moment is iced grande 6 pumps classic no water easy ice shaken passion tea! second favourite is iced grande 3 pump almond easy ice black tea lemonade

Too bad there is no blenz around my workplace so I'm "force" to have green tea latte from starbucks lor..
But one thing I want to mention, starbucks (at least the iron wood one) service is extremely good...the staff is so friendly! They don't mind to exchange even I made a wrong order. Not even black face to me... that's real "service"...

For mocha, in blenz I can choose which type of chocolate bits I like to make the mocha! That's so nice!

Hahah~ revealing Starbucks recipes on LYK~

1) Go to Starbucks and buy a box of Earl Grey Tea (or Awake Tea if ya like, or Chai Tea if you also like the "Montreal Fog") It's $6.95 per box, 25 bags in each. Or you can buy it from me.

2) If you're really picky about the taste, buy a bottle of Starbucks Vanilla Syrup too! Its retail price is $9.95. You can get it online or in stores (sometimes they hide it in the back, I've only seen them put it out once @ aberdeen) Again, you can buy that from me. If you really don't care about the vanilla taste then you can add your own sweetener.

3) Steep one or two teabag(s) (depends how 濃 you want the taste of the tea to be) with hot water half way up the cup, add desired amount of syrup then hot milk up to the top. DONE~

well.. its basically milk tea.... rite... so... its like.. an awake tea misto with sugar in it... if you want it extra strong then ask for 2 teabags in a grande cup... grandes comes with 2 bags~

We still have the black tea and red tea concentrate syrup in the airport stores~ but the drink isn't in the menu. I think that stuff tastes very similar to HK style milk tea, except that the tea isn't freshly brewed.

Haha, I like to drink my Awake tea misto with two tea bags in a tall cup... two in a grande is standard... maybe I should try three bags in a grande!! I love the strong flavour of the tea!! (I don't understand how people can drink tea mistos with only one tea bag in a venti -_- )

Ohh and I'll ALWAYS choose to drink an americano instead of brewed coffee. Tastes way better! But for me I'd add an extra shot, long pour if it's available in the machine cuz the original is tooooo watery.

i ALWAYS have grande americano if i have to work REALLY EARLY (say 5:30am), it just works all the time for me...

i know what you guys mean...i just dun understand why ppl like green tea latte with melon syrup... it smells like cough syrup... alot of my customers order tall or grande soy no melon Green tea latte...

i wonder Hiro or Caffie had tried the SFM... it looks like a thinner to me!! and th smell... smells like gasoline...(at least that's what i think...) i apologize in advance if i made some ppl upset...

SFM.......... OMG..... on the day my store first had it... my coworker was like, "hey try this out.." I took a sip.. SOO gross!! the aftertaste is terrible! I can't imagine putting that into my drink.. and it freakin looks like exxon valdez in a syrup bottle @_@

And 5:30am isn't early~ lol..sometimes my shift starts at 3:15am.. I need a double short 2/3 full americano!!

Caffie have u tried the new honey syrup? it is soooooo THIN (alot less viscous) once u compare to the honey on the self-serve condiments bar.... i wonder why we have honey syrup......

5:30am is early for me cuz i can't sleep until 12 midnight, so after a 4 hours of sleep yeah i get sleepy at work.... grande two pump white mocha americano misto does the work for me....

You nailed it! I like it because it tastes like HK style milk tea!! Yeah, why pay $5 to get a milk tea when you can get one for only $2. But where I work it's hard to get a hold of decent HK restaurant.

I don't think black tea latter tastes the same as HK style milk tea though. It tastes like royal milk tea that I always had in Japan. In fact, Blenz has Royal Tea Latte which is super authentic and good!!!!!

My favourite drinks are

starbucks-wise is acutally earl grey tea misto (i don't have the steamer at home, I only like it with steam milk and foam)

Blenz - obviously royal tea latte

I even bought the loose tea leaves back home but I can't make the same taste!!!!! I like their matcha frapp too!!

Second-cup - Vanilla bean Latte and steam apple cider (they put a whole cinnamon stick in your drink)

Honey latte and other Honey drinks are finally out (Feb 26). I tried a double tall nonfat no whip honey latte on the first day our store got the syrup. It tastes toooo plain to me. You could just add the actual honey from the condiment bar into your latte and it tastes the same. Anyone here try it yet?

Caramel Macchiato (中文名焦糖瑪琦朵) is one of the most popular drinks on the Starbucks menu. It is basically like a vanilla latte with caramel on top. I like it better than the honey latte because the honey smells kinda weird to me......

creme base to the first line (grande), 2 scoops vanilla bean, 1 pump WM, 3 scoops chips.. it was soo sweet but yummy =) what is your cookies n cream like??

and I don't get your drink... this is what it seems like to me: caramel drizzle all around the inside of the cup, pour the tall almond flavoured VBF in a cold venti cup then a shot of espresso on top with more caramel drizzle? why tall in a venti?

ooo when we're bored in store we like to blend things... (I like blended strawberry passion tea, blended tangerine soy with mocha drizzle on top, blended strawberry soy) it's fun but we sometimes get stomachaches =P ever tried blending pastry crumbs?? =D

Alain got moved to Int'l now la... I'm usually open with him on Tuesdays, it's sooo boring in the morning that I read in store. (He knows some Chinese words and try to read my book lol)

starbucks is too mcdonald style.. mass produced.
their machine is also automatic.. it doesn't bring out that espresso taste
emphasize too much on "legendary service"..
... Take 5 is better!

yes...great you've realized that.
The automatic machine is to bring out the consistency on every drink.(less mistakes to be made)

but then on the other hand..,
the newer starbucks baristas knew nothing on espresso...(tamping, water flow volume, filter, rinsing for every use, or even how much grinds put into the hammer) knew nothing at all, only knows the time and grind adjust.

All they knew is press the button and time the shots.

I missed the old days when making espresso was a profession. =(

Starbucks' new promotion.. is reintroducing espresso shots.
baristas are require to pull only double shots and not single shots into glass shots.
only when solo and dobio that we are allowed to pull it directly into the cups..
which i find pathetic.... they just have no new ideas because their stocks are goin wayyyyy down... and the dec in sales...

they need to bring back the old red machines..

on a side note... starbucks just bought the coffee machine company.
apparent it brews coffee one cup at a time . quite complicated and not starbucks style

I hate it when partners cheat on not using the shot glasses for drinks like americanos. They say, "who cares! we're so busy... and it's the same thing! not using the glasses save much more time" Geez, I can't believe how many bad espresso shots I see the machine pull when using the shot glass.

That machine.. wont happen...way too slow ...you mig have to way 3 min for a short line up for a coffee...

but you are right
next week, we do changing our brewer setting into smaller portion to make it much more aroma and fresh...

yes caffie.. 30 min..not 1 hr anymore... means more work for you....=]

and caffie ....shot glass or not, the only thing matters is the pour come out at the right amount...but you do need a key to adjust that....

but howard schaults is like emphasizing on the quality.
he just doesn't get y there is a dec in sales
- mocha is a powder..
all the other chains use real chocolate
-premix of everything

and starbucks is actually not overpriced btw.. i buy way more expensive espresso drinks at SFU and GRIND and BLENZ.

we emphasize too much on speed and on the way.. they neglected the quality.. now they are trying to save their asses.. and making us barista suffer...

30 minute hold time... haha that will be funny
watching the morning people at the store..
i guess deployment maps need to change toop
put a person constantly brewing coffee.. and expediting.

Yup... funny. We have 5 shuttles of coffee in the morning. I can imagine myself getting interrupted while trying to help a customer every 5 minutes or so just to brew coffee

Ah, can't wait for Apr 8 to come.

And scooping the grinds into filters instead of pouring the package in, that only helps if a store is not busy (dead at a certain time of the day) so you can brew half batches and not waste a lot of coffee.

some people ignore the timers.. let the coffee sit more than it should be

just like the decaf......... no one changes it... unless... keeners.. lol...

have u guys ever used "universial" coffee during the last hour of closing?
universial - meaning everything... haha
at our store... it is decaf... we leave one shuttle open .. when people need regular drip coffee we give the decaf... when people need decaf we give decaf..

lol.. we are lazy... well the closers are... but we really can't help it because the mornign people make a mess and expect us to clean and deal with the long lineups at night!

why don't you just offer the customer an americano?
say, a store closes at 10:30pm. shut down the decaf at around 7:30pm, leave two shuttles of coffee (primary and secondary COW) until 9ish, then just down one more, remaining one shuttle. if customer asks for decaf coffee, serve em a decaf americano for the same price. then at 10:25pm or so you can kill the last one =P

we clean out the decaf espresso beans.
americano for drip price.. people will eventually take advantage of it.
like the regulars at my store... lol

i am sure corporate allows you more time to close?
in the liscenced store.. i always have to rush rush rush...

and yeah, I remember one time it was 4:52am and this guy ordered a decaf coffee. we also got a bunch of air canada ladies who drink decaf coming in at around 6am.

how does everyone rinse milk pitchers during a rush? it's the most annoying part of the job I find nowadays. I see some stores don't use the thermometer while steaming milk, and just use the rinsing thing (don't know what it's called) for blenders to rinse their pitchers so it's faster.

I dont close anymore..but when i close in the old days.

washing three shuttles will take me about no more than 4 mins... after 3min of urnexing (yes urnex 1st b4 washing it..) and yeah you have to very sure how well you manage your time...
1> i dun "drain" coffee....i move two shuttle at a time and turn it upside down and pour them out  save me a lot of time.. again...move two back in together press the button ,and then, you start to look for you urnex packs. and pour them in....

2>when 3 min is up you take them out..and pour them into the third one (PS.  you should have realized you dun have enough hot water to start the 3rd one... wait to reheat need at least 2-3 min)
to clean it.. simply you rinse with cold water real quick and have running cold water  onto you arm to cold down the temp while cleaning it...

when you done cleaning it.. the thrid one is done too, do the same.. will only take you not long... if nothing unexpected  shows up.

thermometer steam milk is a must...however if you really good and really confident .. you can tell by the sound from the steamer( just like you know which gear was in when you driving a car).  PS. every 801 is different and feel differently.

i rinse every pitcher..and i dun resteam milk at all... i clean it with the BLENDER PITCHER FLUSHER a.k.a. FLUSHER (if you want to know what that is) ..when its done.. and i need to use it right away i will pour waterdrop onto the floor on the way back to the 801...
some times in good mood.. i will spin toss the pitcher into the air showing some stunts..

every store is the same...they are all short staff.. in a term..... not just becuz they dun have enough staff.. it's mainly becuz there is a formula that  "how much you make on that day last week  will relatively project the labour hours for the same day this week.

if you really under staff..which ....empty shifts hv  no one taking it....simply reflects the store is not a good working environment....too stress; high turn over rate, etc

and all starbucks is the same....if you have chance to look over your manager's work book.. you will understand....

corp starbucks also have 30 min to close...... that answers you question

Usually Tall Mocha with chocolate syrup on top in Grande cup.

But my fav is gotta be caramal frap or java chip frap~ good stuff!
