Does anyone know if I can WALK across the border?

We are planning to go to US with 2 friends, We have Nexus but they don't, so I was thinking can we just drop them off at a "on foot" crossing, then pick them up afterwards to avoid the line ups?

According to this website, you can cross the truck crossing by foot, but has anyone tried?

Not smuggle ah... We all drive there, the 4 of us, we drop them off at the "foot crossing" (if there is any), then we cross using Nexus line, and pick them up at the US side....

Is there any couter that you cross like those counters at the airport??

Just don't want to sit and wait for 2 hours...

Not sure if your plan will work BUT ppl can definitely cross the border on foot.
They will need to go into US custom/immigration. I used to hear things about customs not too happy with ppl doing this. But I don't know if they can do anything about it. Can someone with current Nexus pass share?

Bubble, it is legal to walk across the border thru the proper port of entry. But your friend must be prepared to answer tons of questions by the border authorities. Question like why, travel plan, accomondation, traffic arrangement .........

If you ask me, it is quite rude to let your friend walk across and you ride across. Your friend may end up waiting in the border office for a couple hours to get thru while you are waiting in the border town for a couple of hours wondering what is happening to your friend. There a lot red neck bordermen especially at the Peace Arch, they will grapse any opportunities to show their hospitality.

u and yr friend should stay in the same car and just go thru the regular customs booth instead of nexus, problem solved

yes, you can cross the border by foot. i did it by accident. long story short, we needed to come back by foot since the car was not legally drive to canada. but your friends are suppose to carry all their belongs with them, since all belongs in your car should be belong to someone in the car.
however i just went to the state today, there was no line up, i mean less than 10 mins wait.

i don't think u should worry that ur frd will get stuck at the border for a long time because they'll question a lot...i've walked across the border a couple times before and my bf did it quite a few times cuz he's the only 1 w/o nexus on the car...just stay cool and answer their questions and you're good to go...they must have seen ppl walking across the border wif the same reasons for many times la...as long as you bring ur stuff like tofu said...this way u and ur frds can all leave the border fast w/o having to wait ah~

數年前我识過同三个朋友源住白石鎮嘅鉄路行過和平门进入美国，冇人理我哋喎，之後行返路過关返加拿大，又照俾過！只係要小心唔好俾火車輾過！

i don't think u should worry that ur frd will get stuck at the border for a long time because they'll question a lot...i've walked across the border a couple times before and my bf did it quite a few ...

I believe both have foot crossing. Even Point Robert has foot crossing.
You just walk down the sidewalk on the left of the cars lineup. There will be signs near the custom building to direct foot passangers.

You better do NOT do that. When I got my nexus pass the custom explicitly said DO NOT drop off friends w/o Nexus to walk across border. Plus, the lineup could be so long. Usually people who wait at the counter had more issues with immigration status, passport issues etc etc..each of them can take ages to process.

but yea u're right in some way, many ppl that has to go inside the bldg have trouble, and the line-up is super long @ peace arch...longer than pacific x-ing i would say...i'll try to avoid peace arch if possible...
i guess it's better if u don't tell them too much if they didn't ask u...don't get all nervous and report to them first like "oh my frd dropped me off here blah blah blah..."...cuz when i walk across border they just asked the purpose of my trip, how long i stayed, and if u don't sound suspicious i think they'll let u go...they didn't even ask me why i walked that time...

The custom explicitly mentioned to me during the Nexus interview. So I guess they ban it coz too many people do that?

Really? I don't really remember my officer told me about that....
But I remember there is like TONS of rules, so I am not surprised if I miss some
