I used to go there often. It was not bad at all and the service was up to par. I even took my whole group of friends there to hang out and event did most of my wedding planning there. Discontinued going for months coz i moved further away. Went back last week and OMG!

About 1/2 way into the tofu stone pot soup, I saw a bug. Not a small one, big enough to clearly see the wings on it!

I waived the waitress over and pointed it out to her. She looked at it for a few seconds and then walked away and stood still from a distance!

I was like: WTH? She expects me to continue staring at this bug?. I was speechless myself

at her action or actually,...NO action! I kept looking at her wide eyed until she was uncomfortable enough to come back to me. She was like: "ur............um........, do you want another..... one?". I said: "No, I don't think so! The soup is coming fr. the same pot!". She stood there for another 10 seconds and said: "well, do you want me to take it away?"

She took it to the kitchen and how dare the cook peeped out from the kitchen and stared at me as if I did something wrong!

I asked for the bill. I ordered the tofu soup and chicken wings. Well guess what, I was charged for every penny of them! I was like: "You are going to charge me for the soup?"

She said: "Yeah!". I was furious! I said: "I am NOT going to pay for the soup! I will pay for the wings coz they were ok but not the soup!" Her face turned black and away with the bill. Came back 5 minutes later and put another bill on my table then walked away without a word. With that attitude, it was like I am the one at fault! I didn't yell or scream. I was even very quite as not to make a scene and not to scare other customers eating (although there were only 2 more tables with 4 customers in total).

I paid for the full amount without leaving her a tip.

I really should've taken a pic with my cell and threaten to take it to health authorities!
Oh, and the so called Thai Wings were just deep fried wings with vietnamnese hot sauce!

The story didn't end here...

Questions for you:

1. Notice what the server didn't do throughout the entire incident? (I remember the conversations above WORD for WORD!)

2. Guess what I did after I paid.

The waitress didn't do anything.. not even say sorry to you at first... ~_~
ya.. you should take the picture and report that to the health authority..

server didnt apologize lor? but what did u do after?

just a side note, i once went to gastropod and ordered a salad.. ate to the last few bites and saw a bug...T-T grossed out, talked to the server... she said sorry and took my plate away. meal still charged on my bill... plus service extremely slow -__- never going back again.

i've been there two times. i thought that place wasn't that terrible (the food). but i agree it's going downhill (drinks and food in general). last time i was there, the matcha milk green tea was VERY gross. the smell was a combination of detergent and toothpaste. the color was a thick creamy weird shade of green/cyan. i almost thought i ordered mint milk tea, but it was matcha......

May be we do not do anything, including not going there anymore and let it naturally aborted. Then we do not have to "make any scene afterward"

After I left the money on the table, I walked up to her where she was taking order from another table. I said very loudly in front of the customers: "Excuse me!! I think you own me an apology! The fly was this big *hand gesture" and I can't believe you were still going to charge me for it!"

She quietly said sorry and the face colors of the customers turned. I walked out! (NEVER RETURNING)!!

None of the customer should tolerate this kinda of BS service. Since I haven't visited this place for a long time. After I read this post I don't think I will ever visit again. thank you for the notice
