A  Chinese speaking politician does not always represent the interest of Chinese,
Jenny Kwan gets most  of the support from the welfare recipients and NDPers,  she would win even without a single vote from Chinese communiuty.
Raymond Chxx used to be a very nice person when I first met him in 1989, we used to go to the same church, just to witness his fall , corrupt and disgrace, so sad.

Like the East Indian, if the riding has only one East Indian, all ethic votes will go to him since they really want him to represent their group, not neccessary their interest.  If their riding has two or more East India candidates, then they wil vote according to their preference. If you want more Chinese ethic representative in the Provincial level to reflect the percentage of Chinese in BC then you vote him. Who can really represent you only time will tell.

The Liberal candidate, Kash Heed, is not without a questionable background either. Prior to his election nomination, he was facing some Police Act complain while he was the West Van chief. His "balanced approach" to illicit drugs seems questionable as well.

Two bad apples... which one do you choose?

In that riding (South Vancouver?), while over 50% of the residents are Chinese Canadians, a sizable portion are Indo-Canadians as well, and a heck of a LOT of them are backing Kash Heed (who is also Indo-Canadian). The area has traditionally been a Liberal stronghold as well, with AG Wally Opal (also an Indo-Canadian) being their MLA. The Liberals are quite confident of Kash Heed winning in that riding as well, and considers him to be a star candidate because of his background. Given all the factors that are at play, I honestly don't see how Gabriel Yu stands a chance against Kash Heed law.

Of course choose the Chinese candidate. The East Indian promised to serve west vancouver people, but now has quit his job and run for provincial office. Why would anyone vote for someone who reneged on a promise? These east Indians only knows how to talk trash and pretend to be superior. Just look at their own country, just a slumdog country.

One thing I like about Gabriel Yu is that he is (or was, at least) an out-spoken person who is not afraid to speak his mind. Quite a long time ago when he still had a radio show on AM1470, he openly spoke of a lot crap and unfairness that was happening in the local 僑領 circle. Naturally, that pissed the 僑領 off and his radio show was eventually cut.

On the other hand, I don't completely agree with is leftist ideals.
