It's exciting and fun to make all the big decisions for my day, also it's a natural weight loss program (no need to spend the extra money at gym to keep fit)

籌備結婚既時候..往往有後悔過~~黎如早知唔整依樣個樣甘~~ 徙錢擺酒... 不如用D錢去旅行好過 etc etc....

哈哈咪當一世人做一次富豪囉！

哈哈有時我覺得做ＨＫ人真係唔抵，好似有ＨＫ血統的人結婚總係勁倒水。有冇見過ＨＫ的ＦＯＲUM有好多人仙都唔仙下但係要買一卡八心八箭求婚，然後一對卡地亞做wedding band仲要使幾萬唔知去邊影公主王子相，有話外母要禮金，擺酒一定要有翅有龍蝦....... 嘩唔怪得我Ｄ老外friend結得gum輕鬆，仲有錢開open bar又盛！

其實結婚後你就會發覺60%野可以唔使gum多錢，不過結婚唔係話一個人既事，好多野做左，錢使左都係為身邊人高興，然後「一生人一次」就係大使既借口哈哈哈！

擺酒 is not the most expensive as you will receive $$$ from guest, but other stuff like pre wedding photos, decorations, wedding ceremony are expensive.

we thought abt kam yuet hin.. but the staging is not that great as my parents' opinion are not that great abt that part.. this is why my fiance is sort of frustrated abt it too cause my parents' a little picky

~as for kirin in richmond.. it is fully booked since 2007 or smth
~yok ting hin at night time looked really horrible compare to day time
~hoi gong was really loud when we went in there at lunch for tea... perhaps smth to do with the struction and the noise cannot escape?
~don't like lun wong bau chee as people would need to walk pass your dinner to go to washroom

so i really don't know what to do, every restaurant has smth that is not good.. but i dont know how to deal with my parents!!

Kam yuet hin might not able to last that long..especially ur big day is next year.. you never know when will the restaurant close...(may restaurant close or change the name lately.. you better keep this in mind too)

Kirin is fully booked that fast? It's crazy!! Have you tried the Starlight Kirin then??

mmm.. too bad that Yok ting Hin doesnt look that great at night.. i haven't been to Yok Ting Hin at night...so i dunno how bad it is...

Hoi Gong is loud?? u mean outside traffic?? @@ It's the first time i heard of this >< I am having mine at Hoi gong hahaa.. but i think we will be louder than outside.. LOL

lun wong bau chee sucks.. dun even think of going.. they have serious problem with pests..

mm.. that's much abt it gar la wor in rmd~~ i guess u dun want to go to Fisherman or Shiang Garden gar la.. then u have not much choice left..

Keep in mind that restaurants have high chance of closure this yr.. look at their business..(parker one is a good example la) you dun want to take the risk and waste ur deposit jei~~

yok ting hin looked really old and maybe also because of the lighting... it's gross you won't want to go there too

kam yuet hin has another seafood restaurant by no3 at london drugs? i'm actually not worry about it closing down ne.. cause the owner actually uses kam yuet hin to earn the $$ from wedding dinners... the one at no3 are no good for wedding dinner ne

parker one suck so much lol... it's so mainland feel

starlight kirin is inconvenient for people la

fisherman is no good cause it's a curve floor plan, can't imagine how they can set up

Back then the easiest decision for us to make was finding the right pre-wedding photoshoot and the venue. I usually did all the research and shortlisted a few for us to make a final decision. Both were confirmed in 2 months after we engaged.

Wedding day photographer took us a really really long time to confirm because I wanted something more contemporary and stylish photojournalism while my husband had only seen those "traditional" and "ordinary" shots!!!! O well, I won in this case and I rather gave up on the video part. I am so glad that I made the right choice and I like to look at them everyday since I got married.

Wedding cake is easy cuz my venue has a pastry chef and all I need to provide is just a reference pic

Wedding bands are also easy cuz my husband doesn't really care about the style, he just wants it plain. I can make the choice as long as it compliments my e-ring and get him a matching band.

Wedding attire took me a big chunk of time, like over 1 year to settle with the tailor, design, fabric, fitting and accessories n' stuff.

BM dresses made in Shenzhen totally drove me crazy (for the service and quality) and end up I re-bought a whole new set here. TOTALLY WASTE of my $ and time!!

DIY is something that I almost addicted to and spent most of my time on. It's really fun and probably the enjoyable thing I did for our wedding.

First dance lesson was really fun and we still sometimes pretend to be romantic and dance at home.

I documented the whole wedding planning process so I always have something to remember.

i paid 500 for deposit..but they also request 20% for 2nd deposit... if u know someone at Kam yuet hin...then u can just pay them 500 is fine la~~

He didn't rent his tux here, he custom made his tux in China. Quality is pretty good for the price we were paying. Just have to be super SPECIFIC and say everything in super DETAILS so the tailor understands what I want.  I still wouldn't recommend anyone to get their wedding attire to be done in China. I am not trying to be rude but their service is just two thumbs down and quality is simply inconsistent. My mom went with us and had to yell @ the tailor for getting our tux back because he promised us we could get on a certain date and we got there he said it's still not available.  Plus all those hassle to cross the border and transportation costs, it's no way we would recommend any bride/groom t be's to go there for a horrible experience. I promised myself not to whine again, I am sorry for keep venting!!!

We rent the suits for our groomsmen from Moores though, they said service is not good lor. I was really stressful with the groomsmen outfit when my wedding day almost approached, so my hubby managed to get them all together to rent the suits. They looked smart together with my bridesmaids on my wedding, I am impressed at the end

I paid for my MOH and bestman dress/suit. For suit rental, there's a store on no.3 and landsdowne that's really good price.

Ya, we did pay for their suits/dresses, cuz I hope they feel more they are part of our day.  it' just we would like to do something to make them feel good that's all, but it's never something obligated to do ga la. Good buddies will be happy for you both on your wedding day regardless.

I know Moores sometimes have $99 promotion. We didn't catch it but you can also ask around if someone has entertainment book, I remember they have tux rental coupon also, dont't remember the vendor, moores or black n Lee...

My hubby went to Western Tux.   They had a 99$ promotion including shoes.  The owner there is the salesperson and he has a few branches.  He provides good recommendation and advice.

In my experience, 擺酒 can be expensive and cheap both with very good results.  In Chinese weddings, at least you are getting some money back off your friends and relatives..!
I found honeymoon can be one of the most costly part in your wedding.  You can easily spend a few K per person.  Then some couple may enjoy their honeymoon as well with destination such as Victoria..!
Photography can be expensive.., as a wedding photographer.., I have learned that the photography on your wedding day is much more worhty than the nice big album from your pre-wedding.  So, don't over spend $$$$ on the pre-wedding alubm photo, and save up for your wedding day pictures..!  (One of the reason is that the great photos that's done at a wedding studio may look very nice, but they serve little to no memory)  The real wedding pictures on your wedding day has alot more story in it, and it's still like new when you look back to them years from now..!
Video is also a nice thing to have...!  I don't think it's as important, since one would only view the full video occasionally.., and it's more often that you would share photos with your friends or new friends than videos..!
Wedding dress, rent instead of buy can save you some money.
Good makeup can be costly.., and that's very little you can do about it...!

For me.. i went to TW and every single destination.. every single pictures are full of memories.. we go to around 10 outside places.. and each of those places are full of memories.. from climbing up the waterfall.. climbing the cliffs.. swinging on the lake, sudden rain in the forest.. chasing the sunsets.. everything are full of memories.. and lots of funny things happen during the photo taking date~ so pre-wedding photos have memories too XD

wa..... $2680 drop $1000? I believe this photographer is so hunger for your business. Usually I tell my friends to avoid vendors that can give you big big discounts either they are new (or less professional) to the business or they have poor quality service/products.

Few days a ago I went to Lisange to check around, looked at their wedding day & pre-wedding photos fro my friend (i'm married hehe). Oh wow, 90% of their photos were out of focus but blow up to a big big album! I feel really bad for the couples if those were the quality they received. You guys should check it out if you are 8 haha.....

Then they had another pre-wedding album that is at least 3x better, but they said taken by their photographer in Taiwan using professional models. What is big difference, I guess the photographer is no good shooting with real couples and real moments! I guess my friend has given up getting Taiwanese photos done now, she now wants to spend more money for wedding day photos, as chobit said, more memories ma.

I have to agree that Engagement pictures are very important and it's such an unforgettable experience. Just like "siu lek", we took our pictures in TW, and the whole process is just fun, cheerful and at the same time very adventurous. The people we worked with, the places we had been, the dresses we were wearing...everything burns at the back of our mind. My hubby still loves to talk about the photoshoot until now.

For my case, my on day photography costs more than our pre-wedding but completely worth it. There's no way we can bring our reception, decoration, ceremony home, it's the memories that we can only bring back. I did make a trade off to not hiring a videographer, I have no regret cuz I really don't see why I should pay 2K for a documentary style of wedding video. And I don't wanna pay 4K for something I may like but I won't watch it as often. At least  I have made a framed picture wall in my living room with our wedding day pictures.

Totally agree that Lisange photo pkg is not worth it!!! They gave out cheap price and try to get more jobs..but their photos are totally unprofessional and out of focus!!! I went there to check the price for wedding day photographer..and when i look at their samples..gees.. even i am not a good photographer.. at least i know what is out of focus.. and their make up skills are horrible.. =_=" i rather pay more to have a better one lor~ and their gowns are not pretty at all..

this was the price my fiance's sister had to pay when she got it done cause she works for cathay pacific and she got a deal on it. but again, i dont know why they give out deals to cathay pacific people. there's one photographer and one for the video.. 14 hours i believe? they took 3000 pictures and she picked out 1000 of them

m4 slideshow is only their sample as how they do their photography... you get a video and hard copy photos after on your big day.. this is not pre-wedding photos

last time i asked (around 2 months ago), Whiteday can't guarantee 2 photographers on the wedding day unless you are their only booking on that day....that's what throw me off at the end, but otherwise their package is quite attractive overall. I like their dresses

I think 2 photographers are essential, one usually for close up and the other one using a wide angle len, especially during the ceremony, worth to pay for 2

Holy, if Lisange is close to 3K why not hire Hee Creations? Myself and many of my friends used them they are only 4K for 2 photographers (12 hours) with a very good quality album wor. But don't hire them if you are only looking for a photographer to shoot all the people's faces and nothing extra, because you will expect to pay more for more artistic shots and finely edited photos. I see a big difference between my photos (2006) and my friend's wedding photos (2009), I am very happy with mine but hers is even nicer! Very caucasian style though, can't say which photographer's better, because they have very different styles have to make sure you understand what you will get.

Haha back to Lisange, last time when I went there with my friend the sales told us they have wedding shoot EVERYDAY, very busy. I can tell this shop is very professional in..... LYING!

Not only M4 drop their price, HN Wedding and White Day also drop their wedding day photo price to 1200 to 1500 range, 14 hours with 2 photographers. Lisange wedding day photo price still close to 3K,  ...

Found yourself an event planner (note not wedding planner) a lot of them willing to do it for you for about 100 bucks. They schedule and book and prepare everything for you and all you need to do is to follow the planner and find your friends to be your cheap setup labour that day.
if your guest list is short  and you don't need a glamorous theme and huge banquet, you can make it about 5000 for about 100 guests  (100ppl ceremonie and 60ppl banquet)

The only down-side is the planner will not be present at your wedding if problems happens.

But trust me.. you need someone professional to plan it for you to have your big day go smoothly...

Many places will include gown rental for you on that day if you go with the pre-wedding photos.  My husband and I decided not to go for those expensive packages so I purchase my own gown, which is about the same cost as rental.  I used my gown for pre-wedding photos and I wore it on that day.

My white wedding dress rent around $400, an evening gown around $350, the "gwa" around $200. Their rate are a bit pricey but their dress are
very nice gar~~ and their sizes quite petite~ no need much alteration~~~

Yes, I rented my Qwa at Lovely too.  It was between $200-250 depending on which one you choose.

for me, wedding planning lets you see the dark side of yourself and the "people" around you when you try to put your ideas together for your big day.  sometimes, other people might want to get involved and had their say in it.  there were times when you start to realize who your true friends are.
