NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Police and ICBC are launching Counter-Attack Month with words of warning about the potential tragedy of drinking and driving. The man issuing the words speaks from experience: Kevin Brooks, a man who made a terrible mistake nine years ago, and ended up paralyzed and saw one of his friend die.
Brooks was 21 years old, and hoping to fulfill his dream of working in the family business, when his Mom broke the news to him that he was paralyzed. "I tried to move my legs and it wouldn't go. I was panicked. I tried to wiggle my toes and I couldn't even wiggle my toes...a simple little thing."
