Well ..  but how much they made?  I dont think it is bad idea for them to pay a bit more tax ..

Just went to a wedding last week ..  one of the CEO ..  make ~ $10M/yr .. and he helped his company to make "EXTRA" $400M profit from 2008-2009 ..

Yes ..  they are paying more tax now ..  but they are still making tons of $$$ ..

There are other factors contributing to living standard besides taxes. High land prices is another form of tax in my opinion. I bet HK is the more expensive city to live in than Vancouver. But then again it's all relative, for example you don't qualify for the job in Vancouver but qualify for the same job in HK. That means you can't afford to live in Vancouver even though the overall index is lower.

Still ..  HK is the 4th most expensive place in the world .. but that is just AVERAGE ..

Some area in HK ..  easy ..  $3,000 cad+ / ft .. and some area, could be $300 cad/ft ..

And remember ..  only ~ 70% usable area in HK ..  ^_^

Well .. HK .. just a "EXTREM" city .. many people live in $100M + home ...  many people also live in 200 sq/ft home, making $10k for family of 6 ...

No doubt, if fun for us, (Cad Chan) to go HK once a while to spend money ..

諗吓啦，佢哋自已已原本经好高薪，再自已加自己54%，唔係话单单嗰几个省议員喎，連帶其它公营机構唔同部门嘅高级行政人員都加，嗰度成超大嚿錢冇咗，省府庫房少咗錢緊係要增加收入耒源去填補番筆數，如果唔係点夠錢用？收碳稅只係一个借口矣！要不然我哋嘅好愛金省長何以要不顧大众返对還要一意孤行！只要吸到錢，啲錢係咪真係完全用於环保冇人知，條數係任佢寫、任佢沏之嘛，只要數薄上寫得好睇就得啦！

That only means the tax is not high enough for you yet. So maybe we should push the tax to be even higher.
