Ok, I lied, they're horse clams and not geoducks... but they look similar anyway

Anyhoo... I dug up some horse clams and cockle clams...
我唔想俾出面酒樓整﹐想自己試下整﹗

有冇廚藝大師可以教我點整 (唔係打邊爐) ﹖
我唔識整呢 D 貝殼類東東啊...

已經用水喉洗過﹐外面嘅沙已經冇晒。
但入面呢﹖洗唔洗浸水等入面 D 沙出黎﹖
Cut 係識 cut﹐但點煮﹖

BTW... they're in the freezer right now.

記得落D醋浸幾粒鐘, 迫佢嘔晒D沙, 用油盬水大滚灼熟, 再點甜醬麻油.

腸要洗.
最好食係斜cut 薄片. 白灼. 唔好太耐. 咁係最好食.
生食當然好, 但自己個可能冰唔夠, 唔衛生.

Didn't know that vinegar can make them spit out the sand hehe...

I wouldn't eat it raw la~

by the way, clam-digging was a lot of fun

Clam digging is Canadian's favourite summer activity,
where did you go for clam digging? Most of the West Coast water are contaminated by red tide therefore almost all our clams and mussels are from the East Coast.
Our own bivalves are not safe to eat with the exception of goeduck, so check with the authority before you eat.

Birch Bay, WA. It's just next to the border.
Hmm... it was my first time there.
My bf's co-workers who organized this trip have been digging + eating these clams for more than 10 yrs, and they checked the red-tide reports before going, I think it's safe la...

We go to birchbay often to dig too but never eat them. how did you make them and how was the taste?

i went there just this past weekend. didn't find any clams but got a few bad cuts! lol
