Actually, I was telling many friends of mine to think of immigrating. I told them for their health, for their future, for their children, it's much better to leave Hong Kong. But for many people, they don't even look at that option. They just blindly complain that it cost too much to immigrate, and they don't have the money to go somewhere else. When I listed that there are other ways outside of 投資移民, they still brush the topic off.
Truth is, local Hongers are very narrow minded. They are very short-sighted and cannot think out of the box. The living condition is bad in HK, but they were born with the idea of "just make best use of the current condition" and never think of "move" as one of their option. Frankly, most mid-level income family CAN afford to move to New Zealand, Taiwan, or other places. But the local Hongers just give "reasons" that it's never pressing enough for them to go.
This is one of the biggest weakness I see in Hongers actually. They never get the sense of danger, no sense of desperation, unlike those in Mainland China. I actually give more respect to those Mainlanders who make use of every single means to immigrate to Canada. At least they're thinking ahead.
Very sad to say, but from what I've seen in HK. This city is really dying, and the people along with it. Their narrow mindedness is what killed them. Mainlanders will win in a few more generations, and Hongers will be at the bottom because they could never see far. |
