想去遠d由Whislter經Pemberton/Lillooet/Cache Creek去Kamloops啦, 之後再行#3 hwy 返, 正! Easter先岩岩玩完

ghost car is everywhere, just make sure u stay reasonable on the road and even if you got pulled over, they can't do much (i was so lucky to have only a warning ticket with my civic in DITCHMOND!!!)

the drive on sea to sky is also nice, as well to tofino...

got a new route for everyone! was bored after dinner so me and my friends decided to go for a cruise!

pix 1 showed the general pix of the entire route

pix 2 is the starting and ending part

pix 3 is the most fun part (cuz i have done the route in pix 2 numerous times)

pix 4 from A to B is what i wanna go back to that route for, cuz it becomes so foggy just after mid night so i didn't want to risk it

google says the entire route is 4 hours and 180km, i came back with about that mileage but included my timmy stop was less than 4 hours still...will suggest ppl to leave vancouver / richmond around 8pm (we started about 9ish and made it back at 12ish)

dunno why the pix doesn't show, will try to figure that out later

ok so yeah i started off at my friend's house after dinner, around kerr and 49, went onto knight and took 91 onto 99, straight down to exit 10 (crescent beach) and followed the road to white rock; got onto 8 ave and turned onto 176 / hwy 15 (where the truck crossing border is), turned left onto 1st ave and it will take u onto 0 ave and drove all the way to abbostford (watch out for the border at 264 street), got onto hwy 11 and went to mission; took some mission inside roads that lead u to dewdney trunk road, that's where the fun begins!

i could only made from point b to point a/c in the last pix as i tried to go loop from point a/c back to B but it was so foggy, only made two turns and i gave up, it was so initial d feel...i would strongly recommand going back to dewdney trunk road and leave from maple ridge! it's worth to take that route twice IMO

from let's say burnaby to whistler is about 2 hours drive, then whistler to pemberton is only 25 mins (the fun starts there), then from pemberton to cache creek is about 2 to 3 hours, we usually stop for scenery so u better plan a little bit more time there, plus there will be a section with 8 to 10 "one lane bridge", quite scary if u are not ready, going 60 into a corner then u find out u have to stop for opposite traffic

from cache creek to kamloops will be boring, watch for speed trap; when u get close to vernon i think u will have some fun (this longest route was taken many years ago, but most of the whistler / pemberton / cache creek / kelowna / hope route i have taken at least once a year, usually u can start at 8am and get back to vancouver by 9pm, if u make the extra stop to kelowna for dinner, then maybe 1am and kinda rushing thru it too); most of the way from vernon to hope will be fun....

if u do the basic whistler / pemberton / cache creek / kamloops / hope route u can finish within one day, but u are planning for a few stops, then i have done 2 to 3 days trip too...

derek: according to google map, it says 11xxkm; about 15 hours of driving; i remember i have done that route in 2 days and i put 12xxkm onto the rental ~ strongly suggest ppl drives rental car, you won't believe how dirty the car could be

for my easter get away, i put 1646km onto the rental; started off about 100km in town for the first day (went to pick up my friend at tsawwassen), then we started off from my house (bby near metrotown), to pick up a friend in coq near lougheed mall, another friend at chilliwack, then up coquihalla to kelowna for wine tasting (so we drove around in k-town for the day); next morning we headed to kamloops for lunch and then cache creek / lillooet / pemberton, dropped off our luggage then head to whistler for dinner, and back to pemberton for the nite (yeah, abusing the mileage on the rental lol)...

last day we went back to whistler for lunch, then coquitlam / richmond etc lol...it's so fun when the car is not urs ;)

caffie: the first time i went, it wasn't really planned; i just kinda knew the way around and follow the road signs, it was a one day trip; then after that i started planning sth else to do and to try, it's always better if u can go with 4 ppl and other ppl can drive too (yet i love driving so it's always me driving)

btw, last but not least, a warning for ppl who is planning to take this route should have ur car's brake / tires checked and it's always good to head up from whistler to kamloops because there was a section that is so steep, i tried to floor a matrix / mazda 6 it wouldn't even go pass 40kph; when i made this trip in opposite direction, i had to lock the tranny in 2nd gear and it would still go down very fast, u will smell everyone is cooking their brakes pretty bad and it's not fun if u have lost your brake or if your engine's condition wouldn't let u make up such a steep slope and break down!

i finally got a chance to make a run with my friend's CSX-S (stock) thru those roads and partially of it with my friend's S2K (modded), it's really nice of a drive but make sure you try to drive it few more time before u go fast...lol

just did this route yesterday while i was in victoria for the weekend, thought i would like to share even tho it's not within GVRD...

the whole trip was about 350km, very fun drive and lots of nice scenery...
