LOK: new shocks does affect ride height, so does springs! i have seen 2 to 3 (more like 2.5 max) fingers gap more after doing the front blown shocks. those cars usually have over 150k, and shocks are pretty dead.

wongcasey: i dunno why your springs are changed, factory shocks no dampening adjustment; i am guessing they have put in some used outback shocks that's why it's stiffer and higher....

many case u dun have to see an actual leak before the shocks wouldn't hold the spring's oscillation. Rides will become ****ty and height will become lowered.

After shocks replacement ride height will be 1.5 to 2.5 fingers higher, and after settlement might still make 1 to 2 fingers diff...

like a blown shocks, is not like if u can't see oil around it then it's not blown; u have to un-do the whole shocks and check the shaft's "friction"; if it's "blown" then it wouldn't hold the car's weight of course it will sit lower...

subaru's factory springs are a little bit pain to install, but i would say if just changing one corner would cost u about $50? yet u will need another wheel alignment done and probably that way can ensure they did a proper repair on it?!

i have never seen new shocks coming with new springs, from factory...let me give dealer a call right now and i will be surprised if that's the case...must be expensive to force u replacing the springs with the shocks...haha...
