most cars actually get to replace rear more often than the front, not only mazda 3

example: 05 Audi A4, could have replaced rear pad / rotors at 25k but now at 40k the front brakes are still over 50%...

04 Mazda 3 GT, replaced the rear pad and machined rear rotors at 50k, now at 65k the front brakes are still going (40 to 50%)

most honda has to replace rear brakes between 45k to 55k range and front brakes at 50k to 60k ~ of course, i have seen a few ppl have to do their brakes at 100k, but that's pretty rare....

I don't know about you guys, but for my cars, I replace front pads twice before I replace the rear once...

i think for ppl who does a lot of city driving, and if they light brake all the time, rear brake will wear out faster than the front for sure (initial braking power always goes to the back then to the front, to prevent nose dive)...so if u know ur braking time, just brake and stop ~ u can probably going to wear out the pad evenly?!

but if you hard brake all the time, like when i went to the track, i could have destroyed a set of HPS on my front and the rear has less than 40% wear ~ due to NO LIGHT BRAKING AT ALL....

more over, if u have an older car, check if ur shocks are in good condition; bad shocks will cause more nose dive, putting whole car weight into the front, that can cause excessive brake fade / wear too...

of course more braking power in the rear will caused stopping distance increase, but pls read the word "INITIAL", so i am talking about initial braking, as soon as the pressure increased to a certain point it will ALWAYS be the front more than the rear...

axle position sensing lever? maybe yes to some heavy duty truck or SUV, i doubt a civic / corolla would have that...pls let me know where i can find that parts?

nose dive doesn't only happen when you drive fast, if your car has stiff (healthy) suspension and proper brake distribution, even during hard braking nose dive is minimal (well now that depends if you have a high quality car or a manufacturer budget made car)...

of course, driving slower is always the best for yourself, and everyone on the road; but slow ~ assume you are talking about speed limit, but not slower; during emergency braking if the car is not maintained properly, nose dive can actually be bad...
