I shot a Parade this afternoon, then went and shoot another small fire.../ event at nite.

It was done with @ 85mm f/2.8 ISO400 @ 1sec, flash on, then put it out of focus at the end so the light is more spread out..!

For the guy blowing fire..!  It's kind of a normal setting of ISO160 85mm f/2.8 @ 1/125

Yeah, it's on a tripod, and for the time, it's probably longer than 1/10s, but I wouldn't be able to tell you the time...!  It just come nature, since I have done this at other type of photography as well.  The key is your main subject should mostl lit by the flash.

put it out of focus at the end? like in the last few 1/10 sec? did you use a tripod?
