Western Buffet: Except Uncle Willie, most are only for Sunday Brunch. It is also quite expensive.
Indian Buffet: still quite a few exists but never tried it.
Japanese Buffet: Too many in Vancouver.
Hot Pot Buffet: Mainly in Richmond.
Korean BBQ Buffet: Went to two and both have few menu items. I guess BBQ does not need too many menu items.
Malaysian Buffet: So far only one exists which is the one in Marine Drive. Never tried it because my wife does not eat food cooked by Malaysian (she prefers Malaysian Chinese..)
If you do not mind to drive a bit further to Abborsford, I know there is one Chinese buffet restaurant owned by a Malaysian. The food is okay and price is cheap. The owner was going to hire cook from Yummy to cook for him...
For Malaysian (actually more Indonesian), the Kedah House on Marine Dr. has "buffet" on the weekend. $10 per person.
Not a lot of choices but usually they have rendang beef + 1 chicken dish and veggi ...

went there this past weekend and it was typical western style Chinese food. People go there for crab legs mostly. Nothing outstanding about the food. They have about 20+ types of food.
All the dishes are either too salty or no taste at all. The soup was too salty. We did not eat crabs. I remembered I went there many years ago and they had beijing duck. I guessed they took it out. My favorite of the day would the ice cream. The only one that was bearable.
They even added one dollar for the Chinese tea... The waiter specifically told us that there is no water.
