the not found is.. i think.. when the system is searching for connected drives on the, usually, 4 IDE ports.

Maybe your cd/dvd-rom is bad, try another one if u have one.

they might even have old CD/DVD drives lying around in that back of his porn drawer gathering dust, that can be inserted to your computer.

hee... nothing to upgrade.  Buy a new one will actually save energy and gives better performance.
