Do we need more people to post negative news and comments about China? I guess probably it is not necessary. You guys are 人多勢眾 enough and Peter is probably the lonely one who would post positive news.

You guys enjoy showing one side of the story, and I just sometimes showed the other side of the story and allow people to have a rounded and balanced view of the same issue. How would people interpret the information and make judgment? It is up to them.

I believe people on LYK would appreciate having a both-side view of a story or issue.

Revealing the positive progresses and achievements of China also help China to improve and modernize. Why are you and your friends not willing to do that as well?

As I said, I just sometimes pointed out the other side of a story or issue to provide a rounded and balanced view to people. You list your points and I list mine. People will have their own judgment.

Only revealing the negative side of China and painting a negative picture of hopeless ness to people will give them the impression that there is no hope and future for China and themselves. Some of your friends on LYK even went to extreme and cried out loud to overthrow the CCP and that is what I do not agree with.

There are many more families in China had gone through the similar agony as your family did in culture revolution. It is the Dark Age in Chinese history and it will be recorded in the history book till the end of this world.

However, should we focus on Now and the Future or the Past? Learning from the past is to build a future but not to deny a future.

What should we do to CCP? Should it be the payback time and kick it off from the throne? Is this a practical, meaningful and feasible option to take? Will you be satisfied if we kick the CCP off from the throne?

In my opinion, I believe it is the call of mainland Chinese people to say whether CPP should stay in power, but not the people who are living outside of China.

Living through the history means every family would suffer one way or the other.

We have family members that were killed by the Japanese during the war (we have relatives who witnessed the killing still alive today). So what do you expect us to do to Japan and the Japanese today?

We lost all of our properties when the communist party took power and relatives (not immediate family members) died in culture revolution. So what is the right way for us to do to China and the CCP today, in your opinion?

It is true that we used to be very scared of CCP and could not find the future of China. We felt very sorry for people who live in mainland and we could never imagine what China is today both economically and politically. Did you expect what China is today? No, you did not.

Maximus:   I join the campaign to fight Japanese for War-crime justice

Rockypath:  Are you talking about the war-crime in World War II? Are you saying you are still seeking for the justice for the crimes the Japanese committed? I would like to know until when? If you did not get the justices you desire, will you expect your children to take over and continue and so your grandchildren?

Will you reject to visit Japan, buy Japan products, learn Japanese culture, make Japanese friends or even marry a Japanese wife? And so do your children and grandchildren?

Maximus: Instead of demanding  compensation for your family, you chose to sympathize the communists and defend them, what can I say?I'm not old enough to teach you what to do

Rockypath:  First, I did not defend the CCP and I just show the other side of a story which is also a fact. Second, a prosperous, stable and peaceful life is what every ordinary family has looked for. The trauma will repeat on other families if we force an overthrown of CCP today for our suffering in the past and support another regime to take over.

I would like to challenge you to find an opportunity to talk to the mainland Chinese directly especially the people who had gone through the dark age. Most of them (if not all of them) are still very afraid of political instability and they don’t want the sufferings repeat on their children again.

Maximus: We don't scare them, we despise them

Rocypath:  I know you are not scared of them because you are lucky and never had the experience of your own.

I believe most of Chinese people (mainlanders and overseas) are still scared of CCP until the day China establishes a true democracy and the government no longer has the control of the justice system.

I believe it will come one day. And the improvements  and progresses China has made economically and politically today do provide me the confidence.

Why would you expect the CCP to give up its power? It is a naive question to ask.

You had talked much about democracy. However, do you know how democracy was evolved, developed and established? I surely believe you do not know.

Do you know the ideology of democracy and ancient political system which lay the foundation for the democracy today dated back thousands years? Do you know the driving force for the establishment of democracy today started from the formation of middle class? Do you know the “freedom of expression” today started from the “freedom of expression through arts” dated back hundreds years ago?

Why has China not been able to establish democracy after so many political regimes changed hands? Have you ever thought about this? Is it because CCP is in power? No, it is because China had been lagging behind the western countries in forming the foundations and conditions for the establishment and development of modern democracy.

Why am I confident about the coming of true democracy in China? Is it because I am day-dreaming and blindly worship the CCP? NO! It is because the China today is providing the conditions to the formation of meddle class; the “open door” policy allows the Chinese people to understand and learn what the modern democracy is; the increasing military strength protects China from the thread of foreign invasion and allows the Chinese to focus on its internal building both economically and politically; the improving living standard and material abundant allow the Chinese to less worry about their material needs and begin to be aware of their political needs such as democracy!

I would say you are POLITICALLY NAIVE. Your UBC honour degree will not be able to help you at all if you are lack of knowledge, don't have the analytical skills and blinded by personal biases.

First, I would question whether you have the ability to comprehend what I said.

Second, why don’t you try to challenge what I said in post #112?

Haven’t you learned enough that trying to challenge me without going through your head first will just keep embarrassing yourself?

回復 117# MAXIMUS

First, you did not even bother to find out what I had said in post#112.

Second, go to look up the history book and learn how the western democracy was born, established and developed instead of talking the nonsense here.

You meaninglessly try to defend yourself indicates that you don’t have the ability to learn about the history, explore the facts and face the reality.

If you still want to defend yourself and try to challenge me, then point out to everyone any part of what I said about the development of the modern western democracy is false!

So when will you expect to get back the right you lost 61 years ago? In your timeframe, when will China have true democracy? 5 years, 10 years or 15 years?

Do you even realize what you are talking about, young kid?
