When Apple opens a store in Vancouver, they need to consider the effect on the resellers as well. They never intented to open their own store in Vancouver when they were selling the contracts years ago. If they open a new store, they might indirectly taking the businesses away from the locals.

Big chain stores can possibly survive, what about the smaller ones like DMac or Simply Computing?

Since my department is an Apple Service Center, I have all the Apple stuff, even CTO systems where no one can carry it.... I guess people would probably miss the Genis Bar.
