Garmin is probably the most reliable one I've used so far. I also have a TomTom.

Dell and Futureshop has them on sale during their Days of Deals sale. You better off buying one with Text to Speech.

For Garmin and TomTom, you can download Chinese voices into the device. My TomTom and Garmin on my phone can do Chinese.

You can get the latest map by paying or hacking. GPS doesn't really get outdated really, they are simply a piece of hardware. Maybe when the newest maps are bigger, it will take longer for it to load.

Google is your friend. There are a few big sites that teach people how to hack the GPS.
