I don't need to tell what is what tires right? The above are just some entry level tires, but they sure beat the AS treads.

Chain only help during deep snow condition, the snow we have here in the city are simply too powder for chains to chains to work. If I have to use chains, I might as well walk. My car is too low to tread over the snow.

Go ask around, I am sure that more people will know Michelin brand because they are used by many OEMs.

The Exaltos are still on the high-end side, so the performance of it should be top notch.

I am sure that in terms of performance, nothing beats Pirelli or Bridgestone (in general).

The treads are very tight together, therefore it lacks the ability to expel water fast enough, so it is understandable that you doubt the wet ability. If you look above the images I posted, the Hanook Icebear W300 and the Falkin ZE512 has wide horizontal tread pattern, these are excellent in wet condition as water can be channel out during high-speed.

We wear the different shoes to suits activities, I think cars should be the same. You can wear your runner all year around, but are they the best in snow compare to a boot? :-)
