I have problem eating the following fruits unless they are organic: pear, apple, peaches, cherries. (梨, 蘋果, 桃) So I only eat organic ones now.

I also tried organic mini watermelons and really like the less sweet and clean taste of them. (surprisingly they are not that much more expensive.. like $1-2 more than a regular mini)

I don't really like grapes. (except when they become wine ) And I hate mangos.

I do risk my life eating longan and lychee. But I eat them less than 5 times a year in total.

I like to eat bananas when they are still green. So hopefully, they don't get treated.

Well, we just live in this kind of world... May be we will build up our system like bugs resisting to pesticides.

I think we don't know. So... get close to your farmers... hopefully, they will tell you the truth when you talk to them face to face.
For canadian products, this is a link to the information about how food can be certified organic:
http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/fssa/orgbio/stainte.shtml

From talking to some farmers, the land/soil cannot be sprayed with chemical for x number of years before the crops can be certified organic. So there are some produces on the market which are not organic but are spray free (the land hasn't reach the number of years to be called organic)

I won't choose to buy something just because they have the stickers. I found locally grown (to me it's more important than organic except...those I can't eat) food taste so much better. I think the harvest time, the way it's being process after to allow transportation makes the difference.

Based on the trust between the farmer, the distributor and the retailer... I thin ...

Farmers market and CSA is as close as you can get to the souce of food if you live in the city.
BTW!!! I am still looking for local organic farmers that grow mainly asian vegetables!! I missed the sweet sweet napa cabbages and bak choi from my CSA bin but our farmer decided not to grow so much of them. (guess most memebers are not asian)

鳳凰網 is from Taiwan. Guess the report is for fruits in Asia but we do import a lot of them here.
