I like Cioppino's but it had been 3 years since I went.
I heard that Yew's drinks and appies are pretty good. Was at a wedding there and saw the decor. Pretty nice.

Ganache has been my default place to pick up dessert when I am in the area. (and if it's not closed yet)
btw their Tiramisu isn't their best dessert. Try something else.

?? Fuel is never a bistro.... Their fried chicken is very good. But expansive if you compare to KFC or Churches.

downtown one is better. But if you are into strong coffee. Try 49th parallel instead.

I like chamber's mussels and their waffle. If you like to try their waffles, you can go to the restaurant, Medina, next door for brunch/lunch.

I like the "new" restaurants around that area. Fuel, Gastropod, Bistrot Bistro...etc. But well, you may not like what I like.

Have you been to Sanifar? Their food is alright. (not bad not super good) But the beds upstairs are great for girls-nite. Same group running Italian Kitchen, Global and Coast.

Most of the restaurants I like have NO view and the chef (with good profiles) are the owners. Btw Boneta has good cocktails and very cool decor but it's near the bad area in Gastown. (across from Army&Navy)
Not sure about Whistler.

Chinese chefs can be good too. But Henry's Kitchen got mixed reivew... Actually me and all of my foodies friends heard of this place but none of us have been there.

not saying Chinese chefs are bad, they just too easy to change the recipe to suit a bunch of people thus lost the originality. I don't like fusion.
