I think I am pretty lucky with police force here.
We called VPD twice for a vandalism report. They came within a few minutes. And did a search in the neighbourhood.
Other encounters are with Bby RCMP, they were pretty fast to act after I called as well.

For the current 搶擊案 between gangs, I think VPD was not prepared or grew with the same speed as the growth of the city itself. For a much bigger city as we are now, we need a lot more task forces, way better planning and better education system to keep crime rate down.

Gang war drains Vancouver Police budget
VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Round-the-clock surveillance, covert operations, and increased enforcement are taking a toll on the Vancouver Police Department and today City Council will hear from a police force strained by fighting gangs.

The V.P.D. spent nearly half of its $2-million criminal-investigation fund in the first two months of the year and Chief Constable Jim Chu says the unprecedented level of gang violence and the need to respond means the fund will be significantly over-budget by the end of the year.

Chu says the plan to target the most violent gang members is working as Project Rebellion has resulted in over 120 charges.
