Tofu, I don't know how serious you are in knowing the answer but I'm going to reply seriously.
When a person believes that Jesus Christ died for our sins, and repents before God, and accepts Jesus Christ as his/her personal Saviour, according to the Bible, that persons sins will be forgiven by God. He/she will be called children of God. That is, the once broken relationship between man and God (broken due to our sins) is once again repaired through Jesus' death. It's not really about going to Heaven.
But it doesn't end here. God also call his believers to live lives worthy of His salvation. God calls the believers to be santified, which literally means to be set apart for God. If believing in God does nothing to your life, why bother believing? E.g., a believer might choose not to worship other gods since it'll upset God; a believer will choose to go to church to worship God, to read the Bible in order to get to know God better etc. There's a long path after the initial "acceptance" for one to be santified for God.
I hope that answers your question, if not, feel free to PM me if you wanted to chat. |
