That's the only thing I support Petcetera............ Petcetera doesn't sell dogs & cats as well. Even we only did SPCA adoption, people would still come to me saying "I'm in love with that dog (German Shepard mix), I want to take him home right now!" When I ask him where he lived, he told me he lived in an apartment! Excuse me....... do you know what you are doing?
There was one time, we had a Pitt Bull mix puppy. Three little girls (grade 6-7, I guess) "fell in love" with the puppy and wanted to adopt the puppy. Of course I wanted to see the parents. When daddy came, he just stood in the corner of the doggy daycare with his arm crossed. When the adoption staff interviewed him, he said "I'm not going to touch the dog. She will have to take care of it (pointing at daughter)" Excuse me............. do you know what your daughter wanted to do? She's not going to buy a little barbie doll. It's a Pitt Bull we are talking about! It bites and it kills!
I am so glad that we had the power to say no to those idiots!
So if yayaya tells her story from a broker's point of view, I'm telling you guys stories from a pet store employee's point of view. I am not going to comment on the Petcetera management and how other employee handle the animals. However, when I worked there as a CS manager, I need to meet my sales quota as well. I do care sales and revenue. Although we don't make any profit from the dog/cat, new owners would shop a lot when they do the adoption. However, I also care whom would adopt the dogs and cats. We can't close our eyes and let those stupid people take away the dogs/cats. It's live we are talking about! |
