starbucks is too mcdonald style.. mass produced.
their machine is also automatic.. it doesn't bring out that espresso taste
emphasize too much on "legendary service"..

Starbucks' new promotion.. is reintroducing espresso shots.
baristas are require to pull only double shots and not single shots into glass shots.
only when solo and dobio that we are allowed to pull it directly into the cups..
which i find pathetic.... they just have no new ideas because their stocks are goin wayyyyy down... and the dec in sales...
they need to bring back the old red machines..
on a side note... starbucks just bought the coffee machine company.
apparent it brews coffee one cup at a time . quite complicated and not starbucks style

and starbucks is actually not overpriced btw.. i buy way more expensive espresso drinks at SFU and GRIND and BLENZ.
we emphasize too much on speed and on the way.. they neglected the quality.. now they are trying to save their asses.. and making us barista suffer...

but honestly it really depends who u are working with
some people ignore the timers.. let the coffee sit more than it should be
just like the decaf......... no one changes it... unless... keeners.. lol...

universial - meaning everything... haha
at our store... it is decaf... we leave one shuttle open .. when people need regular drip coffee we give the decaf... when people need decaf we give decaf..
lol.. we are lazy... well the closers are... but we really can't help it because the mornign people make a mess and expect us to clean and deal with the long lineups at night!
nope.. americano is for only seriously tired ppl that needs it for worl XD
we clean out the decaf espresso beans.
americano for drip price.. people will eventually take advantage of it.
like the regulars at my store... lol

however.. my store is short staff. managers only allow 30 mins to close everything
i am sure corporate allows you more time to close?
in the liscenced store.. i always have to rush rush rush...
