i'm interested in getting a husky or a malamute...
anyone know any breeders in the lower mainland?

and anyone have any experience raising it...
i have some Qs...

kinda leaning towards retriever now... sounds like an "easier" breed for a first time owner...

If this would be your first dog, I strongly suggest a small to medium size easier breed for sure lor!

I love huskies myself as well, but considering that they are cold-weather dogs, I don't know how appropriate Vancouver is for them wor?

to answer your basic Qs... i live in a house... and i have a yard...
i'm active... but not as active as before... i prefer not to run anymore becuase they're hard on my legs (surgery)... but i will take the doggie out for a walk before and after work... my concern at the moment is when the doggie's a puppy... i can't bare leaving him at home for 8hrs while i work...

malamutes and huskies are two of my favourite dogs of all time...

my friend had one, whenever i go to her place, there are HAIR everywhere!!! he sheds so, so, so much! So if you are not the housekeeping conscious type, i suggest you NOT getting malamutes or huskies... unless you are committed to clean up after them and keep your place clean for you, your pet and your guests...

I was getting a bit... "emotional". Other than the part about me loving Malamutes, that post is all about Siberian Huskies. And my friend has 2 of them in a condo... and they are digging holes in the wall...etc... sad... so sad....

And yes.. I have heard A LOT that huskies like to escape/run away.
