There is still a big chance, which could be the fact that, that guy is really in serious mental sickness. In any country, to sentence a true mental sickness person in jail is totally meaningless. Yes, we can be very angry and upset for this kind of murder happens, and the family is even more angry and upset, however, what can you/we/they do?
Just like all natural disasters such as tsunami and earthquake happens, would you get really angry with God?

I am sure Mr. Li has serious mental problem .. ( ops..  many loyaukee too ) but I also think, that is how those lawyers made up the excuse ..

How about another guy who cut off the head of the china female student in US??  

You must be thinking too much, and more like day dreaming.
I really don't think anyone kills someone and will set free all because he/she "claim" (say) himself/herself is in mental sickness without solid proof (in any country). To send the mental sickness killer (who killed your wife) to jail instead of a mental illness hospital might make you happier because you're not rational. To the mental sickness killer, it's the same anyways, cuz he/she would have no idea where he/she is living in, and what kind of treatment is being treated. Moreover, even to sentence the killer to death, he/she feels no fear and pain. To any extents, it's not a "punishment" to him/her anyways no matter what.
After all, the main goal of court judgment is not to please the victim's family, but to give the most appropriate and reasonable order the defendant should deserve.

I am pissed ..   I know nothing I can do ..      and may be I just know too many Lawyers .. I know their job too ..   

The mental sickness report was given by many specialists/expertises (such as doctor and psychologists), not the lawyers.

We have no mental sickness, that's why we can't understand what mental sickness people are thinking. He claimed as, it's God asked him to kill a particular person (that victim), so of course he won't cut his own head off la. You think he has mental illness?

Exactly, it's like: "Hey, it's God asked me to kill him, not me initiated the kill. Do you think I'm crazy? No, I'm not crazy!"
And, God needs not to kill someone in a bloody way. He simply ask people to believe in Him.
