【本報訊】負責《蘋果》免治牛肉化驗項目的海康生命科技助理實驗室總監許鴻傑表示，化驗員先把 0.4克免治牛肉樣本放入試管，加入溶解液把基因細胞壁破開，把基因轉化成液態，並進行純化工序把雜質過濾。化驗員然後把液化基因進行基因擴增及升溫和降溫程序，又把樣本­基因稀釋 10倍和 40倍，以便找出不同樣本的豬隻基因濃度。
若樣本含豬隻基因，其化驗紙會出現灰黑色印記，越深色代表豬隻基因濃度越高。化驗結果顯示，佳寶、惠康、吉之島的免治牛肉均發現有豬隻基因，以佳寶樣本的豬隻基因濃度最高­，稀釋 40倍後仍顯示明顯的灰黑色；其次是吉之島，稀釋 10倍亦出現灰黑色；最後是惠康，只在沒有稀釋下發現豬隻基因。百佳樣本則沒發現豬隻基因。 許鴻傑指，佳寶樣本證明其豬隻基因濃度較高，但不評論豬隻基因來源；惠康及吉之島樣本，有可能是處理牛肉過程中受豬肉「污染」，「例如係用同一部機攪碎牛肉同豬肉」，反映­處理牛肉的工場環境並不完善。
