In Canada only CBC has the rights to broadcast. Probably they will use the feed from CBC.

When did someone say they didn't have to pay for it? The Richmond city hall is part of this event.

I think it will be TVB feed instead of CBC feed.
They should pay to air, but lot less to TVB than CBC

At a press conference, Richmond mayor and the boss of Fairchild appeared together to promote the Olympics. They already said the feed will be from CBC as they have exclusive rights. Whether they need to pay, or how much they pay does not really affect you.

Even if you go to CBC website, they don't even tell you the exact time of the show. Probably, there will some talking by commentators before the ceremony in Beijing starts.

There were so many people who went to this successful event. There were thousands of people who went there so early in support of the Olympics. The parking lots were full that they had to park elsewhere.

Your grudge against Fairchild is clouding your views. Please do not be so childish. All those people were there to support the Olympics. Its not like they were there to support Fairchild.
