There is nothing special about these Japan pictures. Just regular rush hour pictures. They are used to crowded situations.
In China, from what I can see, the bus stations, subway and highspeed railway stations are just as orderly on a daily basis.

The Japanese are orderly people and robotic in style. This we already understand and respect.
But there is no need to bash the Chinese for no reason at all.

The Japanese are overly organized to the point of obsession.
Chinese are more normal, like the rest of the world.

China has 1.3 billion people to organize and maintain and they are doing just fine. During the Chinese New Year, billions of trips were made and everything was orderly. Everyday, China has the biggest number of trips and traffic movement in any country in the world.

Those 中國網民 probably have not been to Japan before. We have, so we know those are just regular rush hour traffic situation in Japan.

But every day 1.3 billion people move around orderly in China. Billions of trips are made orderly during the Chinese new Year. China has to organize 10 times more people on a daily basis than Japan.

The Japanese are orderly people and robotic in style. But there is no need to bash the Chinese for no reason at all.

The Japanese are excessively organized to the point of obsession.
The other countries do not need to copy from Japan. Chinese are more normal, like the rest of the world.

Peter,
How many times did you see people lining up for public phones in the past 10 years?
matt72178 發表於 2011-3-12 20:30

You mean in China? When I visited China, I didn't see people using public phones at all, as they are all using cell phones.

In North America, and Hong Kong, few people use public phones these days.

When i visited China, from what I could see, people at the bus stations, subway and highspeed railway stations are just as very  orderly on a daily basis. Chinese stations are so crowded, and the only way to get on a train is to queue up.

You missed the point la. Why would Chinese or Canadians need to be like Japanese?

First, Chinese people are already orderly. I don't see Chinese fighting with each other to board a train. The subway and highspeed railway stations in China are just like in Hong Kong in terms of order and organization.

Second, the Japanese are excessively obsessed with order. We don't need to learn from them.
Chinese or any other country do not need to be "obsessed with order" like the Japanese.

I've never seen the shelves all empty in 7-11 during a normal day.  Peter, please explain.
LOK 發表於 2011-3-12 21:53

Why do you need an explanation? The Japanese got stranded and could not go home. They bought whatever food they could find at 7-11. New supplies could not get to 7-11. The earthquake didn't hit the biggest Japanese cities anyway. So the other parts of Japan were relatively normal.

The Japanese are more obsessively organized than most other countries in the world, but that does not mean we Chinese are not organized, compared to most other countries.

China always does a good job in rescue after natural disasters, much better than in New Orleans or in India.

China has to organize the daily activities of 1.3 billion people on a daily basis.
Chinese bus, subway and train stations all function smoothly on a daily basis.

China and the rest of the world do not necessarily need to emulate the Japanese style of obsessive organization. Remember, their style of organization is shaped by their unique geographic environment.

上海世博 was well organized. They had 70 million visitors, the largest in Expo history.
Despite the behaviors of a minority, in general, the Shanghai Expo was orderly.

In fact, China's coal burning power plants are a lot more safer eventhough air pollution is bad. China should stop construction of all nuclear plants. The foreigners should not bash China for air pollution and building hydro-electric power plants.
