And as I said, it's a fact that raw materials have been rising in cost and somehow you don't freaking blame the real culprits for driving the costs up and just target the restaurants?

There was a period of chaos before it was pegged.  HK's economy is entirely based on financials and real estate and these two industries are extremely sensitive to any currency policy changes.  I would say any benefit of unpegging is minimal compared to the widespread disastrous events that could happen if it's unpegged.

RMB is not traded in open markets.  "pegging to the RMB" is equivalent to saying you can exchange USD for rmb at any time.

Would they rather live in today's HK or the HK in the 1970s.  Remember there was no computer no cell phone no bape clothing no sneakers no gaming consoles.
