I was attracted to this one initially but upon analyzing, I felt that the strong horizontal lines are too central with nothing else to balance the composition. The only other piece is the little bit of diagonal lines at the top right corner but it doesn't really balance the whole frame.

If you pick 24 frames from 4 years of shooting, I would expect the selection to be more consistent in style and quality. But the end result is that you get a few good individual ones here and there and there isn't much of a flow. In an art exhibit, the sequencing and flow is even more important than the actual photos that make up the exhibit.

Recent photos of HK I've seen are all about the massive highrises. There was a feature of that in the LFI a couple months ago and I saw another guy who did pretty much the same thing (but much more refined) as he took portraits of old citizens at the top floor with their weird collection of stuff. Of course there's also Eric Kim with his typical street assaults but I thought it would be a good venue for some magnum photographers to do their thing. I don't recall seeing anything from them though.

Speaking of exhibits, I really enjoyed the Rodney Graham show at the VAG. It's pretty much Cindy Sherman like stuff but in fantastic color.
