That's pretty normal at Paris.  Bumper to bumper and people are so used to that.  The first day we were there, I stood outside of the apartment and also stopped to watch people parking their car just like in this video.  Everyone walked by paid "zero" attention to all the bumper action.  At the day we left Paris, I was not surprise anymore.  That's one reason most small car in Europe come with unpainted bumper.
