Max weight for a 24-feet heavy-load container is about 33 ton.  Yes, a tow rig that could handle 100 ton is still common, but it usually looks like this:

Rockypath, so with your 見識, could you conclude from the wreckage photo that it was a modified rig that could handle 100 ton (not 40 ton) as mentioned in the news?

I have no doubt Caterpillar 797F can handle 400 tons.  My 4 years old cousin has many of those mining trucks "model" and he love them.  But even our 4-years old know he wouldn't able to see the mining trucks on Canadian highway.  Have a nice day.
