remind me of another cheating case with ICBC like 12 years ago.
One afternoon we went home and find a truck park in front of our house. No big deal and we didn't pay much attention to it. During that evening, I heard glass breaking sound from our living room and when I look out, a guy jumped onto a white car flee the scene and drove off. I went out to check and saw the glass of the truck was broken. None of our nightbors knows about this truck and we call the police in the next morning. Police said it was reported as a stolen vehicle and then they came to tow it.
Several weeks passed and I received a call from ICBC asking me all the details. I told them exactly what I know. But the end, I was curious and asked what's this case is about. He said the vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run before it was parked in front of our house. Police later received the call from the owner saying that it was stolen.
The true story could be the owner hit-n-run then drop off his car, and reported to the police that it was stolen. He then came back to smash his own window. Smart but unlucky spotted by me.
I asked the ICBC person what will happened if that's really the case. He said that there will be no insurance coverage if they could find him cheating and they may bring him to court.
I don't know the final result, but I sure hope ICBC found the truth in this case. 人在做,天在看 that's really true. On the other hand, ICBC screwed me up one time and I heard enough bad story dealing with ICBC. It is really no fun dealing with them. |
