some banks offer online transfer, which will cost a little bit less, ~$25.  if you do it in person at the bank, it will be ~$45.  it should takes less than 3 business day, usually i can see the deposit the next day.  the fund should direct deposit to his/her account.  make sure you tell them to do the conversion in hk, usually you get better exchange rate.  
if it is not urgent, just get a HKD bank draft and send it back by mail.  i done it once at HSBC.  since the receiver has good relationship with them, he can access the fund right away.  if not, they may hold the money.
or ask someone carries traveler cheques for you.  which people in hk can just deposit them to their accounts.  but make sure their account have no fee for deposit traveler cheques.
if you are going to converse the fund here, make sure you compare the exchange rate as well.  i find some places charge less for transfer fee, but give out poor exchange rate.
