if i were you, i would ask the girls why they gave money to the Caucasian.  if you believe this is more than your budget already, skip or pay less in 人情.  standard is only $50 ar.
ask for a big "open door" lai si instead?
sometimes i don't understand why some brides think her girlfriends are willing to contribe a lot.

if she is follow the "white culture", she should responsible for all your costs, like dress, make-up &...
if you are not willing to, you shouldn't be responsible for the cost of the party.  she is the one who receive all the gifts, she should pay for the it.  i never heard the bride will force the bridesmaid to pay for anything.
