Not a fan of the exterior here -- the lines are too swoopy for my likings, but the interior is beautifully done.

What are you talking about, man? Where do you find a comparable Passat / CC, 1-series, etc. in the $23k - $31k range?

If you know of such bargains, be sure to tell me first, ok?

demon 1 series / 1-2 year used 1 series / and i've never mentional passat i just said VW could be any VW at this price range.
Davidcopperfeel 發表於 2010-6-20 23:17

Then it is not the same when you are comparing brand new vs used la. Also, if it wasn't the Passat / CC, the comparison wouldn't be all that appropriate either.

why can't i compare it with the demo or 1-2 years used 1 series. I'll always buy what its worth.
Jetta can really compare with this korean car. Or just because you think jetta is a little smaller so its not comparable?? i would only consider the $$$ and what you need the most. I don't care if its used/bigger/smaller.

It is certainly possible to cross shop between two adjacently sized vehicles in a similar price range, but when most people cross shop for a car, they base it on the practical and functional aspects of the vehicle. If somebody is considering the Sonata, which is a midsize family car, do you really think they're gonna look at the 1-series, with it 2-door + non-existent back seats? Gimme a break la.

And, if you are as smart as you are attempting to portrait yourself, why would you even consider buying dealer demo cars?

People just need to get over the branding thing.  This car looks good and has good value.

Unfortunately, that is precisely what most people will never do. The majority of people are wired by emotional instead of rational thinking. Of course, the hypocrisy is, everywhere you go, people tell you to make decisions based on logic and sound reasoning...

well let me put it this way ppl won't spend 40k for a sonata but they will spend it on a 1 series for 40k.  People that are looking for a mid-size family car doesn't mean they can't chooce other cars at similar price / whatever they think is suitable for them. Do you really think ppl who brought a midsize family car will carry 3-4 ppl everyday?? and a 1 series can't fit 4 adults??? Seriously whats wrong with buying a demo or used car? My frd just brought a demo M3 cab 3 months ago from brainjessel with a great deal and i don't see 1-2k kms on the demo would be the concern. Which we don't see any problems. If you don't like a 1 series or a jetta then don't go for it huh??? whats wrong? People can always get what they think is "worth". Im just making some suggestions if you don't like it is aight but "if you are as smart as you are attempting to portrait yourself" Please say things that a more intelligent next time before trolling.

Kiddo,

When you grow up and have a family, try convincing your wife to allow you to buy a dinky 1-series when you need to fit a child seat in the back. And btw, have you ever tried sitting in the back of a 1-series? I have. And lemme tell you, I wouldn't even want to sit there for anything more than 5 min. Or maybe you aren't even 5'5", or perhaps you don't have legs like a normal person because there is no headroom, and no legroom in the back seats of a 1-series.

Dealer demos are not necessarily bad cars. But more often than not, the discount compared to a new vehicle might only be a few thousand dollars. But do you have any idea how people test drive demo cars? I dunno about you, but I've seen how plenty of people thoroughly abuse those demo vehicles, and I will freely admit that I am guilty of doing the same thing as well. Given the abuse that these demo cars have seen, I'd rather not save those two or three grand on a $30k car, and just stick to something that is brand new.

Good luck to your friend and his M3 cabriolet. I wouldn't even want to think how the car has been thrashed about during it life as a demo. I'm sure all those red line excursions before the engine reaches full operating temperatures is gonna prolong the engine life. And in case you didn't notice, it's Brian Jessel, not "Brain Jessel. I'm fairly certain this Brian Jessel fella has a brain, but I'm less certain whether our friendly forum member has one given the level of intelligence his posts have shown~

LOL~

I think your post made it quite obvious why it was appropriate for me to call you "kiddo".

And btw, it was really difficult to read through your last post because your Engrish (and more importantly, your grammar) is so poor. When the grammar and mastery of the language are as poor as yours, it really makes people question how much intellect you've got. More importantly, it's really difficult to argue / debate with anyone when you can't even make yourself understandable to the other party.

Oh, and 2 more things -- if you really have no idea how much space the back seats of a Carrera has, try going to MCL and do some scouting before you tell people there is enough room for a baby car seat there. (Hint: there isn't enough. )

Also, if you want more space in the rear seats, may I ask what you're gonna do with a HAMMER? (hammer = 錘仔) Are you gonna use it to bang on the inside door and whatnot, and hammer out some extra space for yourself?

Kiddo~

I could really have some fun with you here, but why waste time educating an idiot?

But I will tell you this -- having an expensive car really doesn't mean shxt. First, do you have the skill to really drive that car? Driving is so much more than mashing the gas pedal while going in a straight line, and that applies even if you were drag racing! I've butchered Carreras, Boxsters, Corvettes, Mustangs, STIs, Evos, M3's (and the list goes on), but I have also been slaughtered by 20 year old Civics, plain jane automatic Corollas (ya, that was really embarrassing), Crapiliers, etc. At the end of the day, the car you drive often doesn't mean shxt if it were in driven by someone that has no idea what real driving means. Driver skill is what matters. The car is just a tool.

自以為是、以為有果兩個臭錢就大Q晒嘅咪就係你呢啲囉~

Disagree.  If you view driving skills as one of the priorities, that's your view point only.  Having a expensive car doesn't necessary mean one needs to drive it faster than all the cheaper cars.
ACC-HE 發表於 2010-6-23 09:44

Good driving skill isn't just about driving fast. It's also about car control, reaction to emergency situations, vehicle safety, whether you know how to share the road with other drivers, etc. None of these have anything to do with whether the car is expensive or not.

Why are Richmond C9 in Bimmers and Mercedes the laughing stock of the masses? Is it because they drive expensive cars?
