上海海事大學法學院2009級女碩士楊元元在宿舍衛生間用兩條繫在一起的毛巾，將身體懸掛在水龍頭上，半蹲以一種極為痛苦的方式結束了自己的生命。

據悉，被校方驅趕出宿舍的楊母，前往學校宿舍探望女兒時，揭發女兒自行了斷生命的悲劇，眼前的一幕，幾乎讓她昏了過去。

現年30歲的楊元元，6歲就喪父，她與弟弟兩人一直靠當工人的母親供養。她今年考上碩士生，弟弟也考入北京大學。母親跟隨女兒相依為命。

多次申請校方態度冷漠

楊元元把母親帶上，本想邊讀書邊盡孝心。因無錢在校外租樓，更無力在上海買樓給母親住，她只好和母親偷偷擠在宿舍裡，將就度日。

其間，她多次向學校申請，希望校方能夠體諒她的特殊情況，讓母親暫住。但校方態度冷漠，稱“沒錢不應來讀書”，並揚言要楊母搬離。

上海持續高企的樓價，讓母女倆覓租艱難。後來終於租到一間便宜陋室，讓母親搬了出去，但校方明言禁止楊母再踏入學生宿舍，學校管理員以“鄉下人”辱罵楊母。

楊元元得悉，深感愧對母親，最終發生了慘劇。

樓價惹民怨 媒體同討伐

事件引起網民熱議，指這是上海樓市發瘋的又一宗悲劇，“不要說學生買不起樓，租不起樓，連有正式工作的人，現在也是望樓興嘆。”

樓市飆升不但惹民怨，也引來媒體同聲討伐。

中央電視台“經濟半小時”欄目早前曾揭露港商李澤楷旗下盈科公司在北京炒地皮圖利後，近日再將炮口對準樓市，狂轟樓價飆升給普羅大眾帶來的痛苦。

一名北京市民當著央視記者，怒斥現時樓市飆升，“我兩輩子都掙不到這個房錢，你說這不是瘋了！”。

Too bad, even it's cruel but this is the realistic.
Poor people are everywhere, and laws and regulations are there too.
Can poor people eat free at any restaurant? Can poor people study free at any university? Can poor people live free in any deluxe house? Can poor people have free tickets on bus, train, and airplane?
If so, I really want to be one of them.

你知唔知道咩叫做扶貧？你有無聽過咩叫做 student loan, grant, 同 bursary？你知唔知咩叫做 food bank？你知唔知道咩叫做社會安全網？

咁淺嘅野你都唔識，而背後嘅理念又唔曉，真係枉你為加拿大人呀... （當然，我更加懷疑人個無良心、無人性嘅人仲算唔算係一個人...）

Do you even know what bursaries and grants mean? They are sums of money that you do NOT have to pay back. The institution or government body just gives it to after they've evaluated your financial situation and need. Usually, they don't amount to a heck of a lot ($100 to $500 per grant or bursary), but when it comes to free money to assist students, every little bit helps.

And then there are government loans. Some people certainly abuse the system, and these guys really need to be cut off from the program. But in Canada and in HK at least, the loan is completely interest-free while you are still in your studies. And even after you graduate, the interest rate is quite reasonable. There is certainly a problem when people stay in school for too long and racking up a huge amount of student loan debt, but that's another matter for another thread.

None of this talk changes cruelty and cold bloodedness of the way the Chinese university handled the situation. And nothing you said changes the lack of humanity in you either.

好一句「有錢都俾D細路上小學先啦」！但我想問吓你，國家又係咪將呢樣野放響比較優先嘅地方呢？而更重要嘅係，響成件事裡面，我覺得校方果份麻木不仁嘅態度先至係最大問題嘅所在囉。

其實你所講嘅野，我響某個程度上都認同。但我覺得無需要講同做到咁冷血同絕情囉。

一個90幾歲已經死得既人
政府可以浪費幾十萬
就係要吊住佢條命

果頭治安同教育都經費不足
於是日日有人俾槍打死
中小學教師不足

In your example, I would say that to a certain extent, medical professionals already take age, probability of survival and relapse into account. They are already less likely to recommend invasive procedures and stronger medications with greater side effects. I don't want to speculate whether this comes from a purely humanitarian consideration, or whether it is the result of pure efficiency / cost-benefit analysis. But at the end of the day, unless a person decides to give it all up himself, everyone deserves to live and die in dignity. And thus you have to strike a balance between humanitarian considerations and stone cold efficiency.

The CCP could spend less on military and space project and use the fund
on education. 50% of the budget is more than adequate for defending the country.
There is only 1 potential enemy(US) and it is bankrupted already.

The sad truth is, from the 60th anniversary parades, you can easily see that the leaders still have their mindsets dead set on military prowess and hard influences. Certainly the mindset is deeply ingrained in the structure of both the CPC and the PLA -- the power and influence of every successful CPC leader is intimately linked to his control/support of the PLA. The 槍桿子 itself is at the very core of how the current government is found.

I can only hope that in time, Mainlanders and the government will grow to become more civilized, and emerge out of their primitive military power-based mindset.

無人話過大學宿舍應該俾個阿媽響道住喎？叫佢阿媽搬走咪叫佢阿媽搬走囉，使唔使講埋啲「無錢就咪鬼來讀書」呢啲咁賤架嘅說話呀？唔俾人地阿媽踏入學生宿舍亦都有啲過份。你唔俾佢留宿，咪搵人去 check 佢有無犯規囉，又使乜辱罵人地係鄉下人？家吓你自己無鄉下咩？你響城市裡面住，有多果幾個錢就好巴X閉喇咩？

又一次證明我之前話你無良心同無人性係無話錯你㗎...
