translink sucks like a black hole, no matter how much they get from our property tax, carbon tax and fare it will never be enough.
Why can't they run it like the hk MTR system, semi-private,  give them some  property development rights near sky-train station to cover their initial and running cost.

If for $500 a month I get the same reliability and convenience as MTR, I'm all for it.  
When you adds up  the cost of running a car ( the initial cost, insurance, gas, maintenance, interest on loan) , property tax that goes to translink and government  income tax that goes to translink,  it's probably not far from $500.
