I enrolled in the training programs offered by 2 leading RESP companies,
just to find out what is it all about. I even earned the license to sell RESP but I didn't.
The gov't sponsoring part is good, but the companies are just in  for money,
the agents have to do a lot of hard sell.

Yes, it is true.
No base salary, yet to pay for desk rental, poll in campaign expenses,
24/7 standby,  professional attire at all time. Attending sales meeting
twice  a week,  sales reporting,..... you name it.
Your compensation comes from sales closed,  a big rip-off. I quited after
attaining my license from the BC Securities Commissioner.  So it was like
a free training.
