Actually there was a grand event  "Qing Dynasty Imperial Banquet" in Hong Kong back in 1974 which I had participated, I still have
the original menu/kitchen instruction in my file. The meal's price tag was US$100,000, ordered by NKKTV. They aired  the episode and
marketed it worldwide; the Japanese  made a fortune out of it.
