Hi,
Does anyone know where I can buy an HK prepaid simcard in Vancouver? Like...what I can get at 7-11 in hk? I want to get my number ahead of time so it is easier to contact people...and also...I do not want to use eBay. Maybe there are cellphone shops in Richmond that I can go to? I will be using the simcard to call locally, as well as calling back to Canada.

Basically any Quad-Band or better GSM phone will work in HK. Most Rogers phones are already quad band, but you need to get it network unlocked. This costs around $20-$25 to get it done in Richmond, depending on your phone brand and model. Then you can do the same thing as me, and get an HK simcard and put it into the phone and start using it.

Or, you can buy really cheap phones in HK...there are very basic phones that can be purchased at Fortress for maybe only 300-400 HKD, but it will only work in HK.
