Possibly blocked to remove the risk of any anti-Western sentiment building up within China. Such sentiment is unnecassary and dangerous when what you want is to establish good foriegn relationships and maintain domestic civil stability. You have to know that a lot of the rural Chinese crowds can be more nationalistic and emotinonally charged some times (due to lack of education) and it can be hard to calm then down once you let things lose. Makes sense why they blocked it IMO.
