大家樂扣減員工飯鐘觸怒全城，大家樂集團最終撤回安排。主席陳裕光昨日首度開腔回應，稱原意是想循序漸進，將集團 7,000名員工薪酬，逐步增至法定最低工資水平，減少一步到位的陣痛，不料推出時機不當，他願負全責。

我依家公司都有扣飯鐘錢,係加拿大幾common,大家樂想出呢招,可能抄加拿大橋?

It is quite different,
in Canada, full time work means 35-40 hours per week,
you get overtime pay afterward. And we have 2-8 week vacation pay.
how many working hours are there in a week for average workers?
My little sister works at mgmt level in European bank in HK,
her average hours is 50+ with no overtime pay.However, they get bonus cheque in HK when the company is profitable.

To be honest, I dont see the problem ..  may be it is so common in Canada.


Not sure how 大家樂 works .. but if income increase, but then no more FREE LUNCH paid, can their staff cut or delete their lunch hour?

I am sure they can finish their lunch in just 10-15 min .. that case, means if they work harder, longer hour, and less time spend on lunch, they still make more $$$ wor.

Well, another extreme ..  $2x HKD ..  ~ $3Cad/hr, but hard working, good service, smart, fast, etc ..  vs $14cad/hr here, slow, lazy, attitude, dumb ..  

That is why, we can enjoy good and cheap food in HK/Asia ..  but bad and expensive food here ..

People with a half brain know workers working in 大家樂 is barely making a living.  Pls don't tell me scamming them is ok at any level when the company make huge profit.

They canceled this no paid lunch hr thing.  The management got to know who is the really boss for their line of business.  If People are really pissed. 大家樂 will forced to close it doors within a few weeks.

Also, pls stop telling we have paid lunch hr here.  This has nothing to do with lunch hr at all.

Their move is all about how to "LOWER PAYROLL COST"

Most employees do not have the luxary of paid lunch hour in BC.
Chefs may have free lunch but they may not get OT pay.

I don't either.

Do you see a line in the Financial statements called "Lunch hour Pay"  All they see or care is "Payroll Cost".  

I bet before this lunch hour fiasco, management don't really know the lunch hr policy were.  This lunch hour thing only came up because they are try to circumvent the min wage policy.
