The fee is not bad. I like and I do magics too. Basically, there are sleigh of hand tricks and tricks with gimmick props. I think they only teach sleigh of hand tricks with normal props (and need to buy your own), cuz gimmick props cost so much.

Stage magic cost a lot more, in terms of money (to buy gimmick props and needed lighting etc equipment) and man power (sometimes need false spectators too). LOL
Generally, close-up and street magic can cost almost nothing, just a regular deck of cards and some regular coins can do; plus some gimmick ones to add extra effect.

That's right. I learned magic cuz I myself love to watch and enjoy doing it myself, and to perform to my friends group when they feel interest to watch. I like close-up and street magic cuz it can be done almost anywhere and anytime, not necessarily special gimmick is needed. I performed in elderly homes during X'mas and Chinese new year as volunteer before, and also been hired to perform at kids birthday party, so fun ga!
