雙親逼日讀20小時 考生失控啞鈴襲鄰居

【明報專訊】患適應失調症的中七生，雙親為望子成龍    ，強迫他每日讀書20小時（包括上課時間），惟高考失敗令他極度沮喪，情緒失控下以8磅啞鈴襲擊沒有過節的女鄰居，鄰居頭部需縫6針。中七生認罪後還押至12月11日判刑。

被告何劍雷（18歲）昨在區域法院    承認有意圖而傷人罪，法庭下令候判期間索閱勞教中心、教導所與更生中心報告。其父母、哥哥與數名友人亦到庭支持。

壓力太大 患適應失調

據悉，修讀文科的被告會考成績優異，惟高考時因壓力太大以致成績一落千丈，未能考入大學。

據兩名教師寫的求情信稱，何天資聰穎勤奮，對他犯案難以置信。被告胞哥寫的求情信透露，雙親自弟弟升上中六後不斷施壓，不時強調他要取得大學學位掙錢養活家人，「無錢無前途」，強迫他每天花20小時學習，可惜因壓力太大，成績不進反退，令他出現抑鬱及沮喪，以致怒氣無處宣泄因而犯案。

佈電梯失靈局

案情透露，今年8月21日早上7時許，與被告同住藍田屋苑相同樓層的51歲黃姓事主，打算乘電梯往地下，發現電梯貼出告示，稱「電梯失靈，改行樓梯」，黃遂走往後樓梯，其間突然被人從後重擊頭部，回頭赫見被告手持啞鈴施襲。黃逃走失敗，遭何緊捉右手，混亂間手指被鑰匙割傷，其後何逃去，鄰居聞聲報案，警方稍後將何拘捕，警誡下他承認假製壞升降機告示和施襲，表示因飽受家庭和讀書壓力而犯案。事主送院後頭部與手指分別需縫6針和7針。

念年輕 官考慮不判囚

法官李素蘭說，被告的精神狀況明顯非常不尋常，報告顯示他患有適應失調症，毋須住院，但要接受心理治療，學習轉化怒氣與沮喪情緒，故特別要求有關懲教機構列明能否安排他接受治療。

李官認同被告過往努力不懈，惜成績遠遜預期，明白他因承受不了高考失敗帶來的壓力而犯案；多封求情信亦指事件與其人格不符，惟案件非常嚴重，若犯案者為成年人，必會判囚最少3年。但顧及他年紀輕，或考慮以判囚以外的方式，讓他改過和康復。

and why use 7 characters when you can just use 2?

As a ex-sub-editor in a chinese newspaper, I can easily tell you that sometimes editors decided not use a longer phrase to make the article fit into the layout perfectly.  If an article is too short, we can add (or enlarge) related pictures or even make the captions longer to fill in space.  However, if the article is too long, and cannot be shrunken anymore, it would gives editors tons of headache... especially some certain pieces of articles cannot be published without pictures (E.g. Major headline news on each section).

Criticizing is easy while one don't know jack ****.
