What do you love about here? I think poor people are worse off in Canada than in Hong Kong.
I do not have much information to compare between Hong Kong and Vancouver.
But I know that when you love a place, you want to, and have the ability to, make it into a better place. I DO.
A lot of people 回流 because they are disappointed: "there is nothing much I can get out of here."
Many do not 回流 because they can relate to all the people here - I mean ALL - not just the Chinese community: "all the people here are part of my life."
My friends could not care less about cars and brands, they enjoy studying or working, they find their life meaningful, they try to help other people as much as they can.
Of course they complain about the snow, the stock market, the workplace, the politics, the war. If you find yourself being looked down upon, its most likely because you are such a stupid moron, not because you are poor economically.
